Start by checking your current status of stay
If you want to stay longer, first organize your current visa name, the expiry date of your period of stay, and the activity you want to continue. Through a consultation, we check whether your situation calls for an extension, or whether a change of activity or status should also be considered.
Helpful information to organize before a consultation
- Nationality and the detailed code of your current status of stay
- Expiry date of your period of stay and the stay schedule you'll need
- The activity you want to continue in Korea, such as study, work, family, or business
- Recent changes such as job, school, or address, and past application history
Check required documents and how to apply
Guidance by status and the latest notices are available on HiKorea. In the consultation stage, we organize the types of documents and how ready they are, and separately confirm the application method and schedule for your individual situation. The same document list is not applied to every applicant.
If you've already applied
Completing an application is not the same as approval. Check the current status and whether supplements have been requested according to the filing office's guidance, and if the wording is hard to understand, ask an expert.
This page is general guidance to help you prepare for a consultation. It does not automatically determine whether an extension is possible or what the application deadline is. If your expiry date is near or has passed, please check with your local immigration office or 1345 first.
