You can prepare step by step: foreign investment notification and fund remittance, company setup and registration, investment visa review, and managing your stay while operating.

First, identify the investment type

Start by telling us what business you plan to run in Korea, whose funds will be invested, and in what form. The Korea Visa Portal distinguishes corporate investment, venture companies, sole-proprietor investment, technology startups, and more. Review must follow the specific type, and the setup flow below does not apply identically to every D-8 application.

Reference flow for setting up a foreign-invested company

Summarized from KOTRA's general guidance on establishing a foreign-invested company. Permits, licenses, and banking procedures that depend on the industry and investment method are checked separately.

  1. Review investment purpose and type → foreign investment notification
  2. Remitting investment funds and organizing related documents
  3. Company incorporation registration and checking required permits and licenses
  4. Business registration · opening a corporate bank account · registering as a foreign-invested company
  5. Review the requirements and documents for the relevant investment visa → prepare the application
  6. Checking what's needed for business operations and later extensions or changes of stay

What we check in consultation and support

The scope of review by the person in charge and any outside professional work needed are confirmed during the consultation. Dedicated assignment and the scope of follow-up support are negotiated separately before signing a contract.

  • Business purpose and readiness of the company or business
  • Materials explaining the source of investment funds and the remittance route
  • Business plan and actual operational preparation
  • Visa application history, supplement requests, and stay schedule

Inquire based on what you've prepared

Even if you haven't set up a company or sent funds yet, you can get a consultation from your current stage. Please tell us separately which procedures you've already completed and which are still ahead. Do not attach original sensitive proof of funds to a general inquiry.

Setting up a company does not automatically result in an investment visa. Establishing a foreign-invested company and the visa review are separate, and individual requirements and documents need to be confirmed by an expert and the competent authority.
